Lip injection is a common cosmetic surgery, mainly used to improve the shape and fullness of the lips. When performing lip injection, you need to pay attention to the following matters:

1. Choose the right product

When choosing an injection product, you should choose products approved by NMPA and CE, such as Singderm, etc.

2. Preoperative preparation

- Medical history inquiry:

In the preoperative medical history inquiry, you should pay attention to whether there is a history of herpes simplex virus infection. If there is a relevant medical history, antiviral drugs such as acyclovir should be used before and after surgery to prevent recurrence of infection.

- Anesthesia:

The pain of lip injection is extremely obvious. In addition to applying 5% lidocaine ointment on the surface for 30 to 40 minutes before surgery, it is best to combine infraorbital foramen and mental foramen block anesthesia at the same time, and inject a small amount of local anesthetic under the mucosa of the labial gingival sulcus near the upper and lower lip frenulum and canines to better reduce the pain.

3. Injection technique

- Injection level:

The injection level should be selected according to different injection sites, such as the lip vermilion edge should be injected into the deep dermis at the junction of the skin and mucosa, the lip bead should be injected into the submucosal layer, the lip vermilion should be injected into the submucosal layer, and the philtrum and the bottom of the mouth corner should be injected subcutaneously.

- Injection method:

According to different operating habits and indications, blunt needles or sharp needles can be used. When injecting, avoid inserting the needle directly from the wet mucosa into the deep muscle layer to prevent damage to the upper and lower lip arteries.

4. Postoperative care

- Avoid touching:

One week after the filler injection, try not to touch the lips when eating, and avoid eating too cold or too hot food, which will accelerate the loss of hyaluronic acid or collagen.

- Treatment of adverse reactions:

If herpes simplex occurs, antiviral ointment can be applied locally, and systemic antiviral treatment can be used in severe cases; if local pain and pale skin occur, it is possible that the injection has entered the blood vessel, and the injection should be stopped immediately, and local massage or hot compress can be performed. Aspirin can be taken orally until the symptoms are relieved, and follow-up should be conducted daily.

After 5 days, follow-up should be conducted once a week until the symptoms disappear. During this period, no more injections or fillers are allowed; if swelling and cyanosis of the skin occur, they will generally disappear on their own within 1 week.

Before performing lip cross-linking injections, it is recommended that you consult a professional medical beauty institution to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the operation.
